Just a quick update! | Wednesday, June 8th

Our current work on reverting patch 1.11 is well underway. We figure an update is due!

Zul'Gurub
Restoring Zul'Gurub to patch 1.10 was more of tedious task than we had imagined. It took us quite a while before we found all the necessary information and data required to develop and apply the changes. We're glad to announce that we've successfully managed to do the job! This means that, as of now, Zul'Gurub is running in its 1.10 state on our development server. Among other things, the changes we've applied entail:

  • Stats of bosses;
  • Loot tables of bosses;
  • Class quests and item rewards;
  • Coin and bijou requirements for class quests.

During our research we've also established that patch 1.11 was lacking the option of restoring Zandalarian quest rewards. We're currently working on fixing this.

PvP rewards
The updated armor sets for 1.11 for rank 7, 8 and 10 have been removed from the game and replaced with the 1.10 version. Furthermore, the armor rewards for ranks 12 and 13 were decreased in level and stat point allocation to accustom the state of these armors in 1.10. Weapons added in 1.11 for rank 14 have been removed.

Raids & Dungeons
Aside from Zul'Gurub, the following raids & dungeons were also restored to their 1.10 state: Naxxramas, which has been removed, Dire Maul, Scarlet Graveyard and Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj.

Obviously many more changes have been applied thus far. We're still not done, though! Check our Progression page to monitor the current status of our patch reversion to 1.10.

Reverting patches, one at a time! | Wednesday, May 18th

We've been busy for over two weeks now reverting the content of World of Warcraft back to patch 1.10. Patch 1.12 has already been reverted successfully and we will continue reverting patches all the way back to 1.0. The most challenging part of reverting patches to older content, is to make absolutely sure we're using the correct data. Most of the websites that have information about older patches, though, are no longer online. We can assure you, however, that we have our ways and are doing all we can to give you the best ultimate vanilla WoW experience any server has offered to date. Everything, except talents and abilities, will be restored to the state of the game when it was in its infancy. Together with you, we're going to restore patch after patch, just like Blizzard did, to progressively introduce new content, items and quests. This way, you'll be able to see for yourself the amazing journey vanilla WoW offered us back in 2004-2006. We're hoping to restore patch 1.10 in the next couple of days and will continue to inform you about the progress we make. In the meantime, we're still looking out for developers and testers who'd like to help us out! Check out the Staff page for more information.

Welcome to Snowfall! | Sunday, May 10th

Welcome to Snowfall, a new vanilla World of Warcraft private server aiming to return to the days old! We're working on our progressive realm dubbed Norgannon that will run database version 1.0 of the game originally released in 2004. In order to achieve this, we have various sources that we use to reverse engineer all the way back from patch 1.12.1 to 1.0. On top of that, we will increase raiding difficulty ourselves on this realm to offer everyone - in particular vanilla WoW veterans - a whole new and unique challenge when it comes to fighting the old baddies in Molten Core. All other raids, such as Onyxia and Blackwing Lair, will, like other content, be released in their respective patches in a yet-to-announce timeframe. Aside from increased raiding difficulty, everything else will stay blizzlike and much the same as you were used to while playing the original version of the game. Consequently, we will not implement, nor ever decide to implement, a vote and/or donation shop. Norgannon is currently in a development stage and will most likely stay that way for quite some time. We will keep everyone up-to-date, however, with news, articles and additions and updates to the Progression page. In the meantime, feel free to create an account on our forums. Last, but not least, we're currently in need of more developers. If you're interested and know how to program c++ in a SCRUM driven environment, check out the Staff page for more information on how to apply.
